about
Hey folks,
I’m thrilled to finally share some original music I’ve been looking working on with you. It’s been an arduous journey of writing, rewriting, recording and re-recording. And finally, I’ve got something to share.
One of the few benefits of this past year and a half was the time to reflect and really take the time to think about how I wanted to move forward making music. I decided that I would make an effort to turn my basement into a “recording studio” and try and dedicate as much time possible to learning as many instruments as I could as well as diving into the recording/mixing process. This was both an invigorating and frustrating process. I set out to make an album playing all the instruments/recording and mixing by myself.
The first song I want to share with you is called “He Don’t Need Love” which is a satirical self reflective journey. I’m very proud of this tune and am relieved to come to a place where I feel comfortable enough to share it. Big thanks goes out to Jon Knight for helping me with the mixing process as well as mastering this track.
More to come
Matt
lyrics
He Don't Need Love
Couldn’t you see the shape of your heart
Another feeling cut from the start
Should I know, I different way to go
I could be fine a little taste of time (that’s all mine)
Shouldn’t you be the way that you want
You could be free but they’ll weigh you
Down to the floor, closing all the doors along the way
But it’s ok
He don’t need love
He don’t need conversation
He’s got to go out and make it alone
He don’t need love
He needs piece of mind
He’s got to try and find his way back home
But today, though he has to stay
He’s got to find a way to go
And by the way, when he’s gone
Just remember not to call
Couldn’t ya feel the weight of the pain
An endless yearning caught in the game
Didn’t you mind all the empty time
Everything’s fine, everything’s not fine
I don’t care if its me,
I’m not the type to see what’s in my way
But who’s to say
He don’t need love
He don’t need conversation
He’s got to go out and make it alone
He don’t need love
He needs piece of mind
He’s got to try and find a way back home
He don’t need love
But he needs conversation
He’s got to go out and make it alone
He don’t need pride
The boy needs time
He’s got to try and work it out on his home
He don’t need love
He caught a glimpse of himself today
“Oh what a pity” I’ve become
He caught a glimpse of the world today
Theres nobody out there
